Caring Cat

Group project to combat street harassment

Unwanted comments about the body, whistles, requests for sex, questions about the phone number or address and much more. All of this is catcalling. The boundaries cannot be defined across the board. Each person has a subjective perception of what is catcalling and what is not and where the border is. What the person committing the act only means as a compliment, hurts and unsettles the person concerned. The interactive floor projection Caring Cats supports the affected persons in visually representing their distress situation. In this way, they not only receive the attention and help of bystanders, but also signal directly to the perpetrators that this act crosses their boundaries.
